The one true faith - which one?

Once again I am amazed at Christian convolutions.

The pope has declared that "It is nevertheless difficult to see how the title of 'Church' could possibly be attributed to [Protestant communities], given that they do not accept the theological notion of the Church in the Catholic sense and that they lack elements considered essential to the Catholic Church."

It all seems pretty clear Catholic = Christian anything else  is just plain wrong.

Although some have a different view:

"Conclusion
If many Protestants today are not persuaded that the pope is the Antichrist, what should we say of him? Has the theology of the Roman Catholic Church about the pope and about the Gospel changed? The Roman Catholic Church has changed some of its claims about being the only institution in which one can find salvation. It is willing to call Protestants in some sense separated brothers. There does seem to be more toleration and less commitment to coercion on the part of the bishop of Rome. We should be glad for these changes.

Still the basic teaching about the authority of the pope has not changed and the teaching about the Gospel also has not changed. The Roman Catholic Church still anathematizes the Protestant and biblical doctrine of justification.

The most important criterion by which any minister must be evaluated is this: did he preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ? As Paul taught clearly: “But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed” (Gal. 1:8). By that standard we must conclude that Pope John Paul II was no more a success than his predecessors since the time of the Reformation. Let us pray that Pope Benedict XVI, a very learned man, may come to see the truth as it is in Christ and teach it faithfully.

So now we know pope=Antichrist (or close image of)

Well I feel so much better, the pope has cleared away all the confusion and set us all squarely where we need to be, in the Sixteenth century!!!!

Will they never learn???

Is Atheism a religion ???

 Pope Richard
Many believers have been claiming in recent times that Atheism is in fact a religion. We have a set of beliefs and we stick to them. It takes faith to believe in Atheism and like any religion we have our sacred books and our own pope in Richard Dawkins.

Usually atheists reject this idea. I am going to suggest we embrace it. It's always proposed by Believers and rejected as being a smear tactic. What if we adopt this whole approach, what can we gain.

As a religion Atheism:

Can become a tax exempt charity.
Demand to be spoken of with respect with all other faiths.
Make use of anti discrimination laws to prevent criticism and demand equal time.
Parents can object to any Christian materials in libraries or school classrooms as being discriminatory against their faith.
Get government support available to people of faith.
Demand Atheist chaplains in schools, hospitals and the military.

I'm sure you can think of other examples where being a religion would be of huge benefit. Next time someone says to you that Atheism is a religion don't be too quick to disagree.
