Militant Atheists????

 I am sure you have read/heard about the militant Atheists. They started the war on Christmas and are attacking the faith and beliefs of everyone.  They will not rest until they have tron down everything that faith has established and in the process bring down our society.

I went looking for them and could not find them. Lets have a look at what a militant actually is:

mil·i·tant (ml-tnt)
adj. 1. Fighting or warring.
       2. Having a combative character; aggressive, especially in the service of a cause: a militant            political activist.
n.       A fighting, warring, or aggressive person or party.

I looked up some of the names often cited Richard Dawkins for example. All I found was a guy who wrote a book and then did a lecture tour to promote that book. The book itself was all about his ideas that God did not exist. Hardly militant, certainly not war like. What about Sam Harris? Well he to wrote a couple of books and promoted them he also wrote some articles in some newspapers.

Then I thought I will look at some militant actions like picketing funerals (oops that was Christians), planting bombs to kill the innocent (oops Muslims and Christians) what about rioting in the streets (sorry Hindus), what about forcing their views on children in school(Christians again), manipulating aid and information based on narrow agendas(still Christians). I gave up!!

Seems to me to exorcise your right of free speech and to put forward your religious views in a Western democracy makes you a militant. Can we tolerate the outrageous behaviour of book and newspaper writing and the radical ideas of talking to people clearly not.
