You will Know the Truth and the truth will set you free.

As a Christian I always felt that I was a believer in the truth. I always loved the line that as Christians we knew that the WORD needed no defence, it only needed to be set free. It was a lion that devoured its opponents. I think that no longer, as time after time devout bible believing Christians do their best to surprise, rewrite and downright lie in order to prevent any other view being heard.

This latest article as linked above is a classic example of the outrageous behavior of fundamentalist Christians in trying to suppress evidence of evolution. At one of the foremost museums in the world they want to suppress a display of mankinds ancestors because "Our doctrine is not that we evolved from apes, and we have grave concerns that the museum wants to enhance the prominence of something presented as fact which is just one theory."

They wish to surpress a
.. collection includes the most complete skeleton yet found of Homo erectus, the 1.7 million-year-old Turkana Boy unearthed by Dr Leakey's team in 1984 at Nariokotome, near Lake Turkana in northern Kenya.

The museum also holds bones from several specimens of Australopithecus anamensis, believed to be the first hominid to walk upright, four million years ago. Together the artifacts amount to the clearest record yet discovered of the origins of Homo sapiens.

In short the church does not believe they have the truth, they do not believe their bible can stand up for itself, they do not have faith that God will support their view. So instead they attempt to interfere with a museum exhibit. I have been thinking lately maybe non-believers should start to go into church and complain that they tell only one story, that other Gods deserve to be represented and insist that the Koran and Bible both be included.

The museum is a place for science let's leave religion in the church where it belongs and let people make up their own minds.
